Welcome to the eight lesson on how to read the Quran in Arabic using the famous Noorani Qaida (نوراني قاعدة) booklet.
In this lesson we will be introduced to your third double vowel, or double dammah.
Double Vowel – Double Dammah
ow that you’ve mastered (if you haven’t..go back and review) the Arabic alphabet, 3 vowels, double fatha and kasrah, now it’s time to move on to double dammah.
A double vowel is like a regular vowel, except the addition of a “n” sound at the end.
Regular dammah
T + dammah = Tu
Double dammah
T + Double dammah = Tun
Now lets look at the first row, second word from the right. The letters are: “d” “y” “t”
d + kasrah = de
y + fatha = ya
t + double dammah = tun <<<–notice the “n”..why is it there?
